I first heard about the slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines” on a TV show. Just a few days ago I read that the Philippine Department of Tourism has recently been using this campaign slogan for television advertisements in Asia, Europe and the United States. Personally, I like this campaign. It is simple and easy to remember. The country’s most highly awarded advertising firm started this campaign. It is the same ad agency behind the country’s previous tourism campaign “WoW Philippines.” I hope that the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” slogan will boost the country’s tourism numbers to help alleviate the economy.

There are reports circling around the web that Jessica Sanchez of American Idol is going to sing the Philippine’s national anthem at a future bout of Philippine boxing superstar, Manny Pacquiao. Sanchez, who is only sixteen years old, wowed the judges during the show’s top four performance night. She received a standing ovation for her performance of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going”.

Nikka Javier from Lian, Batangas dubbed as “Ala-Anghel ng Batangas” was the 2nd evicted housemate from the Pinoy Big Brother house, Teen Edition 4. Among the three nominees, she received the lowest number of votes. This week’s nominees are Claire, Karen, Kit, Mariz and Yves. I could careless who will be going home this Saturday eviction night. I am not rooting for any of them but I guess the most boring housemate will be the one to go home.

When my younger brother went to Manila last month, he bought our nephew a couple of plastic models cars. One of them is remote controlled. Our nephew is really having a great time playing with them, especially when he is at my folks home in the village where he has a lot of space for the cars to roam around. This Tamiya 1966 Volkswagen 1300 Beetle would be a good addition to his collection of plastic model cars.
