It has been almost three weeks now since the last time I made a phone call to my family back home in the Philippines.  My mother in particular is probably started worrying about me now.  I don’t feel like calling anyone from home just yet.  I feel very disappointed and frustrated about what had happened last month.  I feel like after doing a lot of sacrifices for them, especially to my siblings, I feel like I am not appreciated.  Yeah, I sacrificed a lot for them to go to college.  I sent thousands of dollars over the years and not getting anything in return.  I am not talking about paybacks. I am talking about them to do well in their studies so they can help themselves in the future.  I can’t send them money for the rest of my life.  In the meantime, I feel like giving up.  I hope this feeling will pass by.  They are my family and we should help each other.

My home village fiesta just recently over. My folks had a big feast. It was celebrated with relatives, neighbors and friends. It was fun but the preparation was so tiring. Most of us woke up very early in the morning yesterday. I did not have a big participation on the celebration but couldn’t sleep because it was so noisy. People came in the house as early as one o’clock and started butchering a carabao and pigs. I felt light headed but managed to get a good sleep the next day.

My mother hired two cooks and helpers. They cooked a wide variety of tasty goodies but I can’t post any picture at this time just yet. I will probably next time.
