My hubby and I will be taking a trip to Chicago one of these days. I need to renew my passport. When I renewed it five years ago, I just sent the application in the mail. For some reason, personal appearance is now required, which I think is so absurd. My hubby could not believe it when I told him about the application process last night. It is such a hassle to say the least. We will have to travel almost 1300 miles round trip to get the passport renewed. I need to get my passport renewed this year because we are planning to take a trip to the Philippines early next year.
I first heard about the slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines” on a TV show. Just a few days ago I read that the Philippine Department of Tourism has recently been using this campaign slogan for television advertisements in Asia, Europe and the United States. Personally, I like this campaign. It is simple and easy to remember. The country’s most highly awarded advertising firm started this campaign. It is the same ad agency behind the country’s previous tourism campaign “WoW Philippines.” I hope that the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” slogan will boost the country’s tourism numbers to help alleviate the economy.
When we were looking for a new car several years back, we checked out the new Kias. At that time, we were not impressed but what a difference a few years makes. After looking at the ads for the new Kias, I can see that they have dramatically improved their cars with some really new and cool technology. The new Kia Rio and Spotify have teamed up to develop a new interactive song playlist that interfaces with your windows playlist application and can be accessed through Facebook. The “Best Songs with your Windows Down” playlist application allows you listen to a great collection of music that you can also share with your friends.
As a music lover and a traveler, this Spotify media application is definitely a boredom reliever for those long trips. If you have an upcoming trip this summer, you should think about downloading the Spotify app to your windows down on your laptop or better yet buy a new Kia Rio. The best thing about this new media application is that users can contribute a song to create a playlist via the Spotify application or the Rio Playlist tab on the Rio Facebook page.
Users that click on any of the playlist promotional units will launch a branded lightbox, a place where you can submit a song. You can then either subscribe to the playlist or share it with your friends. Here’s how it works:
• Visit Kia Rio on Facebook and search for your favorite song to play with your windows application.
• Choose your song, enter your name and email and click submit.
• Make sure to click on view playlist so you can see the songs that were submitted by other users.
• Be sure that you have downloaded the Spotify application.
• Then sit back, relax and enjoy the Kia Rio songs.
I found this idea really cool so I tried it myself. I am into “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele. It is an award winning single of hers so it is a quite familiar song on the radio. I am planning to submit another song, “Someone Like You” again, by Adele.
Submit your songs now and make your own playlist. You can recommend those songs and tell me why you picked them by commenting on this post. Keep in mind to keep checking the playlist everyday for more amazing songs.
In addition to the Kia Rio and Spotify partnership, Kia Rio also features a Voice-Activated UVO Infotainment System powered by Microsoft. This cutting edge technology allows you to personalize your driving experience using the sound of your own voice. I think that is really cool. It sounds like one of those features that James Bond has in his car. UVO also allows you to answer and place phone calls, receive and respond to text messages and much more. This UVO Powered by Microsoft® voice-activated infotainment system unlocks the power of your spoken words. To learn more about Kia’s new features visit http://www.kia.com/#/uvo.
